Katelyn Lucas is the co-founder of The Voice Of A Generation, a licensed business in Alameda County that pairs artists with opportunities. TVOAG runs a monthly poetry slam at Cal State University East Bay, coordinates multi-genre assemblies for local schools, and strives to place teaching artists inside the classroom. TVOAG has partnered with Digital Storytellers, a local non-profit, to continue groundbreaking poetry programs across the Bay Area. The main focal point of TVOAG is to spotlight spoken word. After all, she is a poet herself.



She is part of a collective known as “The Untitled Tour,” which includes Sam Sax and Tim Toaster Henderson. The trio toured Chicago in November ‘12 featuring at Mental Graffiti, Real Talk Live, Young Chicago Authors, Glass City Speaks, and the historic Green Mill. Previously (in 2011), Katelyn represented the Golden State Slam (Oakland) at the Women of the World Poetry Slam and Berkeley at the National Poetry Slam. She has featured at the Seattle Poetry Slam, University of San Francisco, UC Santa Cruz, and across Northern California.



In 2012, Katelyn earned the title of Berkeley Grand Slam Champion and was a member of the semi-finalist SF Bay Area Unified Slam Team. Her work has been featured on KPFA Radio and video of her performance was accepted into the 2012 SF Writer’s Corps Poetry Projection Festival. Her work can be found online in the latest issue of BareHands Literary Journal and published in Tandem* and in The Untitled Poetry Book, and in a series of self-published chapbooks.



This year she represents Berkeley at the 2013 Women of the World Poetry Slam and is touring, featuring and building a manuscript. 



Katelyn holds a gold medal in the sport of laughing and her favorite word is gratitude.
